General Thermoceramic Paper - Ceramic fibre is made from a mixture of silicone dioxide (SiO₂) and aluminium oxide (Al₂O₃), both in a very pure form which is melted in a furnace. This molten mass is then converted into a fibre. The filament diameters average 3 microns. For the production of yarn mixing the ceramic fibres with an organic fibre is necessary (viscose/ rayon). The yarn can be reinforced with glass (borosilcate E-Glass continuous filaments)/ cotton or metal cores.
